Background
For our 2021 production cycle we added an “appellation series” of Napa Valley Zinfandel bottlings from three new vineyard sources in Calistoga, Oakville, and Yountville. This was the first release of the bunch, sourced from an off-the-beaten-path site at the end of a storied lane on the Valley floor. With just six months in barrel our winemaking approach here is intended to let the fruit shine, a call it answers graciously even in its infancy. Its layered aromatics tease out on the palate, hinting at future greatness that at once begs drink now enjoyment and patient cellaring. Rewards will flow from either course; this is a young wine with an old soul — proceed accordingly.
